The Masters 2017 – Prop Betting Odds and Picks

The Masters begins in 3 short days at Augusta National in Augusta, Georgia.  The Masters is the biggest golf tournament of the year and it’s also the most exciting tournament to bet on because offers a wide variety of prop betting options for the tournament.

In this article I’ll take a look at some of the odds for various props that I will personally be betting on and give you my picks.

For all the up to date odds head over to and select ‘Golf’ from the left sidebar menu.  Let’s get into it.

Top Englishman

Justin Rose is the favourite amongst the Englishmen and rightfully so, but at those odds I don’t think there is much value with him considering the talent of guys like Casey, Hatton, Fitzpatrick, Westwood and Fleetwood.

If you’re looking at the outright winner odds, Paul Casey has odds of 33/1, compared to Justin Rose’s 25/1 to win it all, so just based on that getting Casey at 5/1 to be top Englishman is a great bet.

That said, the guy I’m looking at out of this group is Tommy Fleetwood at 9/1.  He’s playing some great golf coming into the event with a 2nd place finish at WGC Mexico followed up with a 10th at the Arnold Palmer.  He’s shown the ability to perform well in solid fields and I expect him to do more of the same this week at Augusta.

Top Former Winner

The Masters is a unique event in that if you win the tournament you are invited back to participate every year.  Out of this group I really think it’s between Spieth, Mickelson and Scott as to who will finish tops out of these players.

My favourite bet here is Adam Scott at odds of 5.50.  His ball striking is always one of the best in the game and although he doesn’t have the best form coming in he’s been gearing up for The Masters and I think he will have a fairly solid tournament.

Top Scandanavian

  • Henrik Stenson 1.70
  • Alex Noren 3.60
  • Soren Kjeldsen 4.33

I think this is a great opportunity to place a bet on Soren Kjeldsen.  He finished 7th last year and has solid form coming into the event.  Stenson has been awful of late and he doesn’t really have a great course history at The Masters anyways, so I don’t think he will magically find his form this week.  Noren is a solid player, but this is his first time at Augusta so I think you have to give the edge to Kjeldsen here.

1st Round Leader

I really like Rickie Fowler at 25/1 to lead this tournament after round 1.  Rickie has the best stats on tour for playing in high winds and it’s expected that winds will be above 20 miles per hour on Thursday.  Fowler showed at the Houston Open last week that he can get out of the gate fast and not be bothered by the windy conditions.  Considering Rickie is 18/1 to win the entire tournament, getting him at 25/1 in the first round is great value.
